How VCs Invest in Startups: A lecture series by Abhimanyu Radhakrishnan from October 26 to 28, 2021

Abhimanyu Radhakrishnan used his lectures at the Asian College of Journalism to help the students understand how venture capital firms are powering startups around the world.

The former CNBC anchor detailed the terms and concepts they should know while covering the venture capital space.

He used various case studies to explain how VCs organise roadshows to raise capital from angel investors to invest in start-ups with high growth potential.

Radhakrishnan, the managing director of Qyuki Digital Media, also exposed the class to terms such as liquidity preference, bootstrapping, shareholder agreement and capital gains. He also introduced them to the various VC firm models out there.

He taught the class the difference between “Right of First Refusal” and “Right of First Offer”. He also helped the Class Of 2022 learn how to calculate valuation using real-life examples, formulas and excel sheets.
