The morning session featured two discussions on Sex Selective Abortion and Reporting on sexual violence against children. Vaishna Roy, Associate Editor, The Hindu and Vidya Reddy of Tulir moderated the discussions. The panellists were Writer Gita Aravamudhan   ; Dhanya Rajendran, Editor-in-Chief, The News Minute; Advocate Akila R.S; Activist Sabu George; Ramya Kannan ,Chief of Bureau, Tamil Nadu, The Hindu; and Ranjitha Gunasekaran, Senior Assistant Editor, The New Indian Express. Job Zacharia, Chief, Unicef for Tamil Nadu and Kerala presented introductory remarks. The afternoon session featured a display of the Student’s reportage on Children from the flood affected areas in rural Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. This was followed by an interactive session with Mr.Sugata Roy , Communications Specialist, UNICEF, and Mr. Sashi Nair, Director, Press Institute of India- Research Institute for Newspaper Development.
